He also runs a very busy construction company building and renovating homes across North America.
Damon specializes in carpentry, structural reinforcement and construction coordination. He is not simply a mentor to his crews, but rather the first to jump in, swing the hammer, and get his hands dirty. When not working on a job-site, Damon can usually be found with the many animals that he has rescued or with his charity work with various Veteran’s groups. Chris comes from a career in Industrial Design, where he created 3D computer models for all levels of design industries. It was here where he discovered his passion for woodworking, after many years in metal, plastics, and even fiberglass manufacturing, wood seemed to be his passion. Moonlighting as a custom carpenter, it didn’t take long for Chris to finally turn his passion into his career. You can now find Chris running his company “Hand Crafted by Chris Palmer”, producing beautiful, one-of-a-kind builds for his clients and creating custom outdoor extensions of the homes interior.
You may recognize Chris from various HGTV programs, like Canada’s Handyman Challenge, Income Property, Open House Overhaul, or from Global TV’s The Morning Show, as their Resident Handyman Expert sharing his “How to” knowledge
Old Homes: What Lies Beneath | Mon. Feb. 20 – 2pm
Many people dream of renovating and restoring a vintage home, but are unaware of the dangers that are unique
to older homes. Jordan will be discussing health and safety hazards that may be hiding in your old home and
what steps you can take to make sure you and your home are safe during a renovation.
Jordan comes from a long line of artists, carpenters and handymen, and as such, is a big proponent of DIY, encouraging homeowners to save money by arming themselves with the right knowledge and tools to tackle projects on their own.
Growing up in a vintage home fueled Jordan’s love for old-world charm, character and aged finishes, which led him into restoring and renovating century homes for the last 10 years.
When not working on his 160 year old farmhouse, he’s building custom furniture, and unique pieces using reclaimed, rustic and vintage materials. Most recently, Jordan’s latest project took first place at the 2016 Toronto Fall Home Show Upcycle Challenge

Michael Upshall is a well-known face in design and home/lifestyle magazines, and a regular speaker on stage at the GTA Home Shows. The founder of Probuilt Design + Build, Michael, is a master carpenter at heart who naturally progressed into a renovator and builder who’s career spans over 35 years.
Probuilt Design + Build have been members of BILD for over 20 years. Michael has actively been involved on the Board of Directors and the Renovation Council and has received numerous industry accolades including being the first to receive the prestigious ‘Renovator of the Year Award’ twice. For an unprecedented five times, Michael, and Probuilt Design + Build have been asked to design and build the showcase Dream Home for the Toronto National Home Show.
Michael is on the Advisory Council for Canadian Contractor magazine and an on-going contributor and past speaker for the Building Renovation Technician Program at George Brown College.
